Portia is a big statement shawl with bold, luxurious cables. It is knitted from tip to edge, then finished with a border that is worked perpendicular to the body. Increases are worked on one side only to achieve an asymmetrical triangular shape.

Wingspan: Approx. 69” / 175 cm.
Depth: Approx. 27.5” / 70 cm.

MATERIALS

Yarn: 5 skeins of Tukuwool Fingering 

5 skeins of Isager Silk Mohair 

The yarns are held together throughout the project.

Needles: US 6 / 4 mm 40” / 100 cm and 16” / 40 cm circular needles.

Notions: Stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle, blocking pins, blocking mats, blocking wires.

 

GAUGE

18 sts x 36 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 6 / 4 mm needle in Garter St, after blocking.
